Justice, Nike style
This cartoon can take you to my photobucket where you can view other gems. BTW, this is another New Yorker reject that I think could be published in Harold Ross's magazine and no
one would bat an eye . . no one would know that it didn't belong in the magazine until they were told. Some people would probably think it's clever . . some would think it's funny . .
Some people, probably one in NYer Cartoon Selection Board whose name rhymes with Minkoff would say it was corny.

Cartoon of the Hour

I've redrawn this one a half-dozen times in the last 5 years. ( And I keep sending it out ) I personally like it.
As Sam Gross told Lee Lorenz, then the cartoon editor of The New Yorker, years ago . . as Lee was looking at one of his cartoons in his office, Lee remarked: " Haven't you shown this one to me before ? " Knowing Sam, he quickly replied: " Yeah . . and you're gonna KEEP seeing it till you buy it ! " I love it. This story came out in one of Mort Gerberg's books on Cartooning. Great tale, love it! I talked to both Mort and Sam about the story and they both love it also.

New American Legion cartoon
I just got an okay yesterday from the magazine and since they only publish color cartoons, they requested a color version and to send back a finish. The original was rendered in gray wash tones, so after pulling it up on my computer, ( using my Corel PaintShopPro XI program ) I pressed a button and zapped it into a black & white line drawing . . then with my 16 million colors on my pallette the fun part came in coloring it !
