- After graduating from Tucson High School in 1953 I attended the Billy Hon School of Cartooning in Los Angeles. I then joined the U.S. Marines for four years, and ended up in Washington, D.C.. After getting honourably discharged, I enrolled at the Corcoran School of Art where I studied figure drawing. In 1976 I founded and was CEO of a 34 man sign company specializing in Trade Show Decorations, Exhibits and Signage for the largest 100 Associations in the U.S. We later expanded and added an electrical sign division where we designed and manufactured electrical signs for many Fortune 500 companies. The company was sold in 2oo2. I now draw cartoons passionately full-time from my mountain-top home and studio in wild & wonderful West Virginia. My cartoons have appeared regularly in the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Harvard Business Review, Reader's Digest, etc. and recently Playboy magazine where Mr. Hefner just purchased 15 colour cartoons in May and June of 2007. This is another cartoon ( in my humble opinion ) that " belongs " in the New Yorker, and I will prove it with a poll, although not a scientific poll, it is an honest , real poll, you comment here with a vote, YES or NO, and by doing it annonymously you can vote without fear of disclosing your identity, please only vote once. Of course you should be familiar with a " New Yorker cartoon ", as it has its own " genre ". I will post the tally and repost the cartoon on January 1st, 2010. Let's do it. I'm curious myself. I hope I'm wrong and Mankoff is right, then I can shut up . . OR-R, if I'm right, I may go ballistic ! But I'll have fun doing it !

I just got a phone call from PETA saying that they don't think it is funny . . I said " lighten up ! " it's only satire. It's only make-believe, fer Krysake ! The first animal that complains, I told them, I'll pledge $100.00 a month to PETA in donations as long as I'm alive on this earth. They said Fair Enough, Moron ! ! and hung up . .
I think it was an old cartoonist friend of mine making a crank call.
