Cartoon of the week

I remember years ago while attending an art exhibition at The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., I witnessed the work of a whole 10 paintings or so by a well-known painter whose name escapes me right now, but he was an ex-signpainter of all professions . . maybe there's still hope. His style was mostly stripes . . different width stripes . . thin stripes, thick stripes . . thick AND thin stripes . . pastel stripes . . black and white stripes . . you name it with stripes, he did it. He must have read too much Alan Watts . . . . when a reporter asked him, " Why STRIPES ? " . . He paused and replied, " Why NOT stripes ? " . . .
End of story . . And some people wonder why you choose to " linger around the grape."

Maybe there is no confusion. Maybe this guy is a "con"
artist.
