This brand new book ( 144 pages ) of cartoons on the subject of cruising will be scheduled for release on July 2009. The softcover was written by Bob Rafferty and illustrated by Roy Delgado. Over 100 side-splitting laughs in the book.
Bob Rafferty's gagwriting career goes back to the very early days in the 50's when Hank Ketcham's DENNIS THE MENACE was catching fire and spreading into comic books and sunday strips and on to Hollywood where his movies are still being produced to this day. The latest Mr. Wilson is played by long-time popular film actor ROBERT WAGNER.
In the book The Merchant of Dennis, Hank mentions Bob Rafferty along with Al Batt and others as some of his top gagwriters and gives them credit for much of his success.
Bob Rafferty's eclectic writing credentials include publication of a number of travel guidebooks and other non-fiction books.
Bob was staff writer for a bilingual children's comedy program seen on more than 150 PBS stations.
His recent travel guide: " The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex" was co-authored by his wife, Loys Reynolds.
For more than 30 years he has been a gagwriter for cartoonists who have drawn and sold many thousands of his cartoon ideas to more than a thousand different publications.
He and his wife live in Sun City Center, Florida which serves as their base for taking frequent cruises.
Roy Delgado is Roy " I coulda been somebody " Delgado - - wannabe cartoonist.
The book is 6x9 inches, softcover, laminated color cover, 144 black and white interior cartoons.
